Hlynur Atlason

Founder, Atlason

Hlynur Vagn Atlason is a product designer from Iceland. Atlason operates his eponymous product design firm, Atlason, in Manhattan—practicing his specific method of design, one that is deeply informed by research, brand and craft. Atlason and his team have developed a process allowing them to transition seamlessly between a broad spectrum of projects and product categories, from household objects and furniture, to packaging and electronics. What sits at the center of Atlason’s approach is curiosity, love for design, and the desire to keep improving. This ongoing effort has produced successful results for a number of local and global clients, including The Museum of Modern Art, IKEA, Umbra, QDO, Microsoft, J&J, COTY & L’Oreal. Atlason left Iceland for France to study at the Sorbonne in Paris before moving to New York City to continue his education at The New School, Parsons School of Design, in Product Design.
